Join us as we celebrate reading and a love of books. This free event is a chance to come out and connect with other Lydiksen families, get a new (to you) book or two to read, access support information to help your child be the best reader they can be, and have fun with books.
Who: Lydiksen students and their families
What: An evening of story-telling, bookmark making, book swapping and information about reading
Where: The Lydiksen MPR
When: Thursday, April 11, 6:30-7:30 PM
Why: So we can connect with each other over the joy of reading!
How: From March 8-22, your School Smarts team will be collecting gently used books in front of the school. There will be a bin in front of the school office (clearly marked) where students and families may drop off gently used books to be swapped at the book swap event. On the evening of the event, Lydiksen students who attend will be given tickets they can use to exchange for the books!
** Lydiksen teachers will be reading aloud to students FREE
** There will be a booth where students can make their own custom bookmarks FREE
** There will be FREE raffle where students will be eligible to win a reading prize
** A station where parents can get FREE information about resources they can use to support their students reading experience at home
** A book swap area where students can choose a book or two to take home to keep FREE
