Dear PUSD Community,
We appreciate our community's continued concern for the health and wellbeing of our students, staff and families in light of ongoing developments related to the coronavirus. While the Alameda County Public Health Department has reaffirmed that our risk in the Bay Area remains low, we continue to check in with them for guidance and information.
Today, our partners at the Alameda County Public Health and Alameda County Office of Education have issued updated guidance as a precaution.
Individuals who have returned from business or personal travel from anywhere in mainland China since January 21, 2020, should stay at home and avoid public settings, work, school, or large gatherings. Please call the Alameda County Public Health Department at (510) 267-3250 for additional guidance.
The CDC has recommended a self-monitoring period of the 14-days for travelers returning to the United States.
If you have had contact with a family member who has recently traveled to Wuhan, China you may wish to inform your physician.
We understand this has created additional concern and stress, and the best way to address this is to stay informed. We will continue to collaborate with our partners at the County and provide additional information and guidance with our school communities as it is available.
Thank you for continued support and cooperation.
